NO TOOLS NEEDED! Once we had the pieces out of the box, my teenage son had it put together in literally less than 2 minutes. The pieces just slide into grooves and it is very solid once the box springs/mattress are on top! Also, the metal definitely looks high quality, like it will not sag or bend over time (which is why I replaced our last one). The bed seems very level now and doesn't make a sound. My only difficulty (which is why I took off a star - because I think they should have thought of that when designing a rolling bed frame) is the headboard issue. Once our headboard was bolted on (and we did it at the highest level possible), the rollers won't work because the legs of our metal headboard rest on the carpet. I bought some furniture sliders to put under them thinking that would help, but it didn't work and now I have a bunch of furniture sliders I don't need. I've had it for 5 months now with no real issues. The brakes on the wheels are ok, but the bed still moves around a bit more than I would prefer. It isn't a big deal, just a nuisance. I took one star off to correspond to that nuisance. Since I weigh 240 lbs, the strength of the frame was a big concern. What I did was look for the heaviest shipping weight and figured that would mean a thicker and hopefully, stronger grade of steel. Anyhow, this was the frame I selected. I have nothing to grade it against but it certainly has satisfied my expectations. |
